各位游客，我们已经来到长城脚下。远看长城，大家一定想：长城真像一条长龙。
我们现在攀登的是八达岭长城。八达岭长城是重要关口及居庸关的前哨，地势险要，历来是兵家必争之地，是明代重要的军事关隘和首都北京的重要屏障。登上这里的长城，可以居高临下，尽览崇山峻岭的壮丽景色。迄今为止，已有包括尼克松、撒切尔夫人在内的三百多位知名人士到此游览。我们往右下方看，在登城口南侧陈列着一门大炮，名为“达时威大将军”。这门炮身长2.85米，口径105米，最大的射程是500多米，可见当时的军工业是比较发达的。
各位游客，我们现在来到的是山海关。山海关是明长城的东北起点，位于秦皇岛市以东十多千米处，自古即为我国军事重镇。山海关城池不大，与长城相连，以城为关。明洪武十四年(1381年)，中山王许达奉命修永永平界岭等关，在此创建山连海，故得名山海关。山海关景区内名胜古迹荟萃、风光旖旎、气候宜人，是著名的历史文化古城和旅游避暑胜地。山海关旅游景区以长城为主线，形成了“老龙头，”“孟姜女庙，”“角山，”“天下第一关，”“长寿山，”“燕塞湖”六大景区。
每个周末的晚上18点30分至21点30分免费对游人开放，欢迎大家晚上来参观。
