The golden week holiday is the National Day holiday of seven days. To a number of people, it’s a rare opportunity to have some entertainment. However, to me it would be better to shorten this vocation. And reasons are as follows.
First, because the autumn semester begins at Sept.1st, it tends to be more difficult for students to concentrate on study if they enjoy long holidays frequently. Second, spontaneously, people usually choose to take a journey in their spare time. Although numerous tourists bring the development of tourism industry, they cause plenty of troubles in the meantime, such as environmental damage, traffic jam and awful travel experience. Last but not least, such a long vacation is not beneficial to revealing the National Day’s political significance since people spend most of their time on shopping and travel. On the contrary, extending the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Double Ninth Festival vocation allows to promote traditional culture. Above all, I’m opposed to the golden week holiday.
