Swimming vocabulary:

1. Swim - to move through water using your arms and legs

2. Breaststroke - a swimming stroke where the arms move together in a circular motion while the legs kick out and in

3. Backstroke - a swimming stroke where the swimmer lies on their back and moves their arms in a circular motion while kicking their legs

4. Freestyle - a swimming stroke where the swimmer moves their arms alternately and kicks their legs to propel themselves through the water

5. Butterfly - a swimming stroke where the swimmer moves their arms in a sweeping motion while kicking their legs together

6. Dive - to jump into the water headfirst

7. Pool - a man-made body of water used for swimming

8. Lane - a designated area in a pool for one swimmer to swim

9. Flip turn - a technique used during freestyle and backstroke where the swimmer touches the wall and flips over to continue swimming in the opposite direction

10. Kickboard - a buoyant board used for practicing kicking movements
